Velox is a biological-inspired surveillance drone

Pliant Energy Systems’s  drone named Velox can navigate in both water and land . Inspired to manta rays, it is able propel itself in the water or crawl using snake’s like movements.

The robot, which was initially meant to be an electric generator that could harness the flow of water, has now become  a surveillance drone, thanks to the investors suggestion.

Peculiar of this design the drone’s fins controlled by 18 servos and “rubber like” material that permit a good movement capability in snow, mud, water and ever in smooth pavement.

Velox purpose to help deliver medical supplies , navigate and explore space or deliver supplies during conflicts combat. The drone is still able to generate energy from water flow “passively”, make it able to recharge its battery.
