New Robotic toys of 2024!
New year new robotic toys! At CES 2024 Events early this year several new robot toys were introduced to the market, offering a variety of features and experiences :
LG unveiled a two-legged AI robot
This robot, referred to as an AI agent, is capable of monitoring pets, patrolling the house for open windows or lights left on, alerting users when they need to take medications, and making emergency calls.
It can also greet users at the door when they come home and read their mood based on voice and facial expressions. The robot is equipped with face and user recognition, relying on machine learning to understand context, so its responses and communications are tailored to individual members of the home.
It’s powered by a generative AI large language model, allowing users to chat with it. The distinguishing feature of LG’s AI agent is its mobility, as it can move around the house on its two legs
Mirokai: the bright-orange robot on a ball
Mirokai designed by Enchanted Tools, drew crowds with its quirky virtual facial interface and funky mobility via a rolling globe.
Mirokai can detect faces and recognize when someone is smiling at it, responding with a smile of its own. The robot combines human elements (i.e., arms and head) and animal features (i.e., long ears), with a slight Manga-like character twist, to make Mirokai more approachable. The use case of this robot is to assist or entrartain kids
Mirokai is expected to have a target price of €30,000 per unit
Mirokai can also serve as a mini assistant because it has opposable thumbs, allowing it to grasp things.
