Enhanced humans may use a robotic tail for balance
University in Japan created a wearable robotic tail named “Arque” that enhance the wearer by improving it’s balance and agility.
In the animal realm tails are used as an additional limb for grasping branches but also help them re position their bodies mid-flight for a safe landing by shifting the animal’s centre of balance. The robotic tail, does essentially the same thing for humans but it’s still in experimental stage.
The most immediate applications for the robotic tail include assisting workers tasked with lifting or carrying heavy objects. The tail works like a counterbalance so that less force is required to lift something off the ground. But unlike an exoskeleton, the tail is far less complicated and easier to take on and off
