Robotic security camera flying around your home
Amazon’s fall showcase included a “flying drone-robot cam” by Ring with codename “Always Home”. Equipped with AI, this device is capable of autonomous flying, records, offers a live stream and return-to-home functionality.
The concept is interesting to monitor extended spaces with only one camera , it is also equipped with collision sensors like modern drones, to avoid surprise during the fly, and Alexa integration.
Interestingly this robot cannot be controlled but instead it will perform automatic ̶d̶e̶c̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ flights at pre-mapped location ( this could be to avoid the hassle and human errors during flights). Once back in its charger/base holder its camera is blocked for privacy purposes.
